What led me to nutrition
After college, I lost 70 pounds—not by dieting, but by rethinking my relationship with food. Like many, I struggled with weight and body image for years, and I wanted a way forward that felt realistic and lasting. That search led me to one of the most important pillars of health: nutrition.
My interest deepened with personal experiences—watching my mom face cancer, going through a cancer scare of my own—and realizing how overwhelming health advice can be when it matters most.
I started this work to cut through the noise so that you can avoid health gimmicks and apply practical, evidence-based fundamentals instead. My goal is to help you navigate your own health path with clarity, confidence, and some great food along the way.
My Background
I hold a Master of Science in Applied Nutrition from the University of New England and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Azusa Pacific University. My training has been complemented by certifications in nutrition and culinary arts from Bauman College and personal training, which allow me to integrate both the science of nutrition and the art of practical, real-life application.
Here is a list of my dietetic internships:
Kaiser Permanente – Teaching nutrition classes for gestational and type 2 diabetes patients and collaborating with a ketogenic dietitian to create pediatric epilepsy treatment plans.
San Joaquin General Hospital – Gaining hands-on experience in ICU and NICU nutrition care.
Contra Costa Health Services, Mt. Diablo Unified Nutrition Services, and The Color of Fresh – Supporting foodservice and community nutrition programs, ensuring accessibility and quality in nutrition services.
I have extensive experience in clinical research, disease prevention, nutrition therapy, and menu development, with specialties in:
Eating Disorders
Cardiovascular Health
Diabetes Management
Pediatrics & Family Nutrition
Weight Management & Bariatric Surgery
Through my work, I aim to make nutrition practical, approachable, and personalized—whether it’s helping someone heal from disordered eating, supporting metabolic health, or making food choices that fit real life.
